The events of Arras are very fun and entertaining. The most popular one is the agricultural festival of the windmills, which entertains the audience with the spectacular feat of pole walking.

Fete du Moulin
Info: The Windmill Festival is basically an agricultural festival. It consists of colorful giants towering over the crowds, dressed as yokels and bringing their agricultural products to market. They proceed around the little village of Ashecourt, just on the outskirts of Arras, ending their parade at the windmill.

Christmas Market
Info: Arras holds its Christmas Market on the splendid Grand’ Place. Some 50 chalets offer a wide selection of arts and crafts, as well as local delicacies like chocolate rats, Atrebate beer and Coeurs d’Arras - heart-shaped biscuits which come in two flavors, ginger and cheese.

Citadel Open Day
Info: For one weekend each spring Arras opens the doors to the stupendous collection of historic fortifications which formerly guarded the frontier. This is actually a national day, and many cities in France participate in opening the doors to their respective forts.
